Let's begin with a
quote from Thomas
Berry
" What is the context of
healing? Human health is a
subsystem of the Earth's
health. You cannot have well
humans on a sick planet. And
that is what we are trying
to do, with all our
technologies: we are trying
to have well humans on a
sick planet. The same principle
applies for economics: you
cannot have a viable human
economy by destroying the
Earth's economy. "
SPIRITUAL VISION AND PHYSICAL
HEALTH
One
factor that is even more important
than nutrition or exercise or
belief is whether you are actively
engaged in living your brightest
vision for yourself and for the
planet. Since living One's
brightest visions is the greatest
satisfaction for the soul it is
not that you are not willing to
live your visions. Rather - it is
one thing to be able to dream
something but quite another to
have the energy and skills
necessary to bring it into
manifestation. And yet to not live
your visions is ultimately a soul
destroying and body destroying
process.
We
believe everyone has been given a
vision of how they can help to
bring through a harmonious way of
being on this planet - but very
few keep this vision burning
brightly within their minds, and
fewer still manage to live it day
to day. Wrestling with the dragons
of material limitation and one's
own lack of radiant clarity and
vitality is unavoidable on the
path toward self mastery. To
overcome the distractions and
limitations of ones inner and
outer situation is one of the
greatest challenges of a human
life. What we call good health is
really the reliable functionality
of the body such that it can
accomplish with ease and pleasure
whatever it is reasonable to ask
of it.
Good
health, abundant energy, joy in
the experience of your body -
these are especially great
blessings in these troubled
times. To sustain them in an
environment contaminated with a
toxic soup of over 75,000
artificial chemicals manufactured
since the 1930s, plus
radioactivity and electromagnetic
pollution - is not easy. Also the
modern lifestyle is disconnected
from the rhythms and energy of
nature, and often you neglect to
give your body & mind the
activities that they require. And
then of course there is the issue
of the quality of the elemental
building blocks from which you
create this marvelous organism -
how pure are the food, the water,
and the air, and the energies that
you assimilate?
If you dedicate yourself to a
healthier more natural lifestyle
you will undoubtedly see
improvements in your health, but
you will be diverting much of your
time and energy from creative work
that your soul craves, and even
then there is no guarantee that it
will be enough to sustain good
health.
As part
of the BirdTribesNetwork's mission
to assist people in manifesting
their highest dreams then - we
would like to offer here some
information and tools that we
trust will significantly help you
to prevail over your dragons. We
believe that during this next
critical phase of the planets
evolution it is important to use
whatever non-destructive tools are
available to us that will assist
us in being optimally functional
so as to effectively contribute
our gifts to the global awakening
process.
In
particular we would like to share
with you information about 3
aspects of wellness that do make a
difference, especially if you
already have the spiritual
attunement and vision to know how
you will use this extra energy and
vitality!
Nutrition/Vegetarian/RawFoods
Meditation/Prayer/MentalPractices
Exercise/Yoga/PhysicalPractices.
Their
are many reasons why eating meat,
poultry, and fish is dangerous to
your health and the health of the
planet. Perhaps there was a time
when eating animals was an arguable
moral choice as everything must die
eventually and become food for
something else - but in view of the
global environmental crisis eating
meat is simply choosing to
participate in the unsustainable
madness of modern society.
It is possible to produce
enough food to feed all the humans
in the world on a vegetarian diet -
it is neither possible nor ethically
defensible to continue to mass
produce sufficient animals for human
consumption.
The violence that is subconsiously
participated in when eating a
tortured animal is felt subliminally
as a deep anxiety about ones
rightful place in the universe.
The subtle sense of guilt
generated becomes a serious
impediment to the process of
conscious evolution on both an
individual and a societal level. It
also sets the moral precedent of
claiming the right to kill conscious
beings without necessity, which
opens the door to the possibility of
murder and of war.
The
form of our physical body, the
life, and the intelligence that is
coded within that form, are
created almost entirely from
molecules that are made by plants.
If we eat meat we are consuming
recycled plant molecules that were
gathered by the body of an animal.
But where do the Plants get their
intelligence from? Are they not
sculpted by the interaction of the
Elements, sunlight, air, water,
and earth? What we are suggesting
here is that the intelligence of
your body is ultimately the same
intelligence that spins the
galaxies and stars into existence.
The medium that we are designed to
draw that intelligence into our
bodies through during this phase
of our development is the
digestion of Plant molecules.
There are no essential nutrients
that are not created by plants.
We will not go into more
detail here nor argue the case any
further.
Those who have already understood
these things do not need to be told
-
Those who are closed to hearing this
truth will not listen.
For those who are willing to make
the transition now there is an
abundance of information about how
to make the transition to more
compassionate and healthier eating
habits.
As
anyone who has lived on
raw
fresh organic
foods for a while can
tell you from immediate
experience how much
better they felt - this
is because heat destroys
nutrition. When food is
heated the large and
complex plant molecules
are broken down into
simpler forms that are
far less useful to the
body. Animals who are
regularly fed cooked
food develop similar
diseases to the ones
that plague human
society.
We suggest that everyone
learn for themselves the
benefits of eating a
completely raw fresh
organic vegetarian diet
- for at least a couple
of weeks. If you have
never done it then you
will be amazed how much
better you feel. You
will also be helping to
create a sustainable
society, reducing
greenhouse gasses,
living in a more ethical
and less violent way,
and improving your
chances of living a long
and happy life.
However - most of the
fruit and vegetables we
eat have been bred over
hundreds of years for
size colour weight and
taste -not for
nutritional content.
Also the soils the food
is grown in are often
depleted or
contaminated, and the
fruit is usually picked
before it is ripe, and
is usually stored and
transported - all of
which degrade the
nutritional quality. Therefor
we recommend eating raw
food in conjunction with
vrious 'superfoods' that
are now availalbe,
and/or, taking top
quality concentrated
plant nutrient
supplements.

Nutraceuticals
~
"Let
your food be your medicine and
medicine be your food."-Hippocrates
( know as the Father of Medicine )
The science of nutrition has come a
long way in the last half a century!
So much so that we are beginning to
decode the molecular language of the
cells themselves. Nutraceuticals
(Pharmacuetical grade nutritional
products) are effective and
scientifically proven, but unlike
drugs they work
with the body by
giving it an abundance of what it
needs to function properly.
There
is a vast difference in quality
between a state-of-the-art
nutritional product and a
supermarket shelf version.
Intelligent nutritional scientists
have at last taken seriously the
dependence of the functioning of the
human bodies cells on plant
molecules, and they identified many
key ingredients in the recipe for
optimal health. They have realised
that nature knows best and that
synthetic chemicals and inorganic
minerals cannot compare to the
genuine plant nutrients that we are
designed to live on. Technologies
have been developed to concentrate
these nutrients whilst damaging
their structure as little as
possible. We have also learned the
benefits of leaving the nutrients in
the food matrix that combines them
with all their co-factors.
This knowledge is a great gift of
the spirits that oversee the green
garden of life. It is no accident
that we have reached this landmark
of evolution - the ability to
recognise and concentrate the most
important nutrients from the plant
kingdom - at a time when we need it
most.
Our modern diets are among the least
nutritious diets in history, and yet
our situation is one where we need
more nutrition than ever before to
cope with the toxic overload and
constant stress of modern life.
The difference between the average
health food shop or supermarket
vitamin and mineral and the new
Nutraceuticals products is enormous.
Many of the old supplements are
synthetic or the active ingredients
degraded, and their overall effect
is to do as much harm as good.
Nutraceutical products on the
contrary are of guaranteed potency,
tested for efficacy, and support the
most important systems of the body.
They seek to replace the missing
nutrients that our bodies expect -
but do not get - from the modern
diet (even a healthy and organic
one). Taking these nutraceutical
products regularly can make a very
significant difference to the bodies
ability to maintain or recover
functionality.
ESSENTIAL
NUTRIENTS
The major
categories of essential
nutrients that are
important to take as
supplements include:
phytonutrients
- molecular 'ripeness' -
antioxidant & many
other functions still
being discovered.
phytosterols
- building blocks for the
endocrine system (glands)
to make hormones from.
vitamins
and minerals from
plant sources. - synthetic
or inorganic ones are not
the same, and its
important that the
molecules are still in an
active form when you take
them.
antioxidants
- essential for minimising
damage to our cells from
toxin in the environment
and our food and water.
essential
fatty acids
(omega3) - very important
for brain, eye, heart and
circulation among other
things.
Probiotics
- because
healthy intestinal flora
is an integral part of
among other things the
immune system and nutrient
uptake. biologically
active carbohydrates
- a new class of nutrients
which are the language of
the cells. Perhaps the
most important missing
nutrient in modern diets.
A key nutrient involved in
almost every aspect of
healthy physiology and
metabolism.
In these critical
transitional times it is a
great blessing to have
access to these
supplements that allow the
physical body to be more
functional and the mind to
be clearer, and thereby
free the soul to be more
effective in its work.
Those
who live a natural lifestyle - by
which we mean connected to Nature,
flowing with its rythyms,
breathing and moving spontaneously
throughout the day, free from
excessive mentalisation and
anxiety - will have little need
for what we call exercise. Like
healthy children they will fulfill
their bodies needs through the
play of moment to moment
experience. However, most people
will find it very beneficial to
regularly do some form of physical
activity that corrects the
imbalances caused by our more
sedentary lifestyle.
As one modern
teacher puts it - "The usual activity
of most men and women involves a
compulsive breaking and obstructing of
the life-current [in the Circle of the
body-mind], thus creating tensions and
inharmonies within the body. Whether
acting or at rest, we are usually
involved in an endless ritual of
twitching and shifting the body,
always compensating for the pain and
discomfort of our usual condition.
Through the conscious use of the body,
while being randomly mindful of bodily
movement and posture, one is able to
observe and understand the ritual of
bodily compensations and pass beyond
them into a stable, harmonious
condition. Therefore learn to use the
whole body consciously and intuitively
in ordinary life and meditation." -

Over the next few
years the BirdTribesNetwork
intends to produce a series of
DVDs on balancing the physical
body through such practices as
Hatha Yoga & Chi Gung. In
particular we will focus on
integrating these practices with
an awareness of the 5 Elements and
the insights of Sacred Geometry.

materials regarding integrating
the practice of Yoga with

Mental
and Spiritual health are
intimately entwined with physical
health. Though the generalisations
you find on this page may be
useful to you, ultimately your
health is a personal matter
between you and God, (however you
may conceive of Her ;-)
Like
all of life, when it comes down to
it, health is a mystery to be
profoundly experienced not a
problem to be superficially
solved. We believe that any
practice that suits you can be of
benefit, as it is not the practice
itself that has the power to heal.
Rather the power to heal is within
yourself, and the technique simply
gives you the opportunity to
access it !
There
are thousands of different types
of practices that go by the name
of meditation or prayer. What
unites them all is that they
involve taking the time to focus
the mind on something other than
its habitual obsessions.
Meditation and prayer
intrinsically involve creating a
time for the mind to be empty of
its habitual patterns, or
observing them without the normal
grasping and attachment, or
replacing these patterns with
other more beneficial ones, or
developing a compassionate
attitude by asking for guidance
and blessings upon ones life and
upon the lives of others.
Vipassana is one of
the most powerful and pure
mediation techniques.
Translated as 'insight
meditation' or 'observing
what is', it can be used to
develop incredibly developed
awareness of every
perception at the same time
as developing the equanimity
necessary to function in
such a hightened state.
It could be said
that of all the world's
religions, the one that has
studied the science of
meditation most deeply is
Buddhism. Tradition says
that the Buddha taught that
the cause of suffering is
not in external things but
in our own habits of craving
and aversion.

The germ theory of disease
sees our bodies through the metaphor of a
besieged country whose borders are constantly
attacked by enemies. Lois Pastuer who was the
main architect of this theory spent his whole
life arguing with Claude Bernard and Antoine
Bechamp who had a competing theory that
emphasised the internal fitness of the body,
'the terrain', as being the deciding factor.
On his deathbed Pastuer is said to have
recanted - "It is not the germ that
causes disease but the terrain in which the
germ is found. More here
" A virus is nothing more than a
thought stream to which much attention has
been given; it has been honed and
clarified and agreement reached upon it.
Then that thought stream is launched, as
it were, out into the broader world where
it is broadly agreed upon, amplified, and
further clarified; the consciousness
within the biology of the invader, being
interrelated with the consciousness of the
human, responds accordingly and so disease
and illness manifests within the body. As
per our discussion above, the vibrational
pattern of the thought stream is mirrored
in the cellular structure of the virus or
disease or whatever is the active agent of
the illness. The mistake that is made is
to assign cause to the biological
manifestation, rather than to the thought
stream which molds or directs the biology.
We tell you without reservation that if
you truly understood the power of your
thought, you never would suffer
unwillingly, ever again!! "

Here's another quote from Adi Da Samraj about
spiritual sustanance - "There is a fundamental
disposition in us to be contracted in our
feeling. It is not really the result of our
experience, whatever our experience. It may be
reinforced in all kinds of social and other
chronic ways, but it is not the result of
experience. It is our philosophy, our point of
view, our disposition. It is the presumption
we make in the instant we recognize our
functional independence. Thus, "I/me-apart" is
felt as "you don't love me" and therefore
lives as unlove, as "I don't love you." Such
unlove remains our disposition until we become
awakened from that sleep, from vital shock,
from the shock of birth, not the birth trauma
in the pure physiological sense, but the
recognition of independence, in which we each
steadily and increasingly observe that we are
vulnerable, that we are subject to
circumstances, that our very existence can
apparently depend on circumstances. The more
you observe existence in that disposition of
vital shock, the more justified you feel in
presuming under all conditions that "you don't
love me.
What is of interest and
significance about diet and health is implicit
in this consideration, this metaphysical
supposition by which everyone presently lives
and also by which he interprets his past.
Birth, or the recognition of one's independent
existence, is interpreted by us to be
separation. It is interpreted by us as an
instant, prolonged through time, in which we
are essentially unloved. And all of that
interpretation is based on the feeling that we
are not sustained. In other words, independent
existence itself is felt as separation from
the ultimate food source."
